The Unwritten

A Quick Update

Hi everybody! We just wanted to update you with some newsbits, just in case you thought we'd forgotten about you. ;)

Convention Updates

2010 dates are coming very soon. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for updates in this regard. We just need to make some final checks before we can announce everything. Thanks so much for being patient with us!

Once that's in order, PayPal will be going live again to take memberships. The prices will be increasing over the course of the year, so make sure you get your memberships early!

As for this Octocon past,  we do have to thank everyone that donated items to the charity auction and everyone that bid on them. We'll likely have a seperate post about this shortly, but we raised a significant sum of money for Achieve ABA and we couldn't have done it without all of you.

Guest Updates

For those that haven't heard, Octocon 2010 Guest of Honour George R.R. Martin will be signing in Eason's Belfast and Dublin this November 3rd and 5th, respectively. Check out George's blog about this here.

C.E. Murphy is now working with Chapters Bookstore in Dublin to bring  just about everyone in the world signed and personalised books! Yay!

Alex de Campi has a new column about launching her new comic.

Mike Carey and Peter Gross's The Unwritten #6 came out last week and you should go and get it.

That's all for now!

The Unwritten #1

The Unwritten #1
Mike Carey's new Vertigo series, The Unwritten, was launched this past week, and so far the reviews have been fantastic!

The new series shows imagination of the highest degree and gives you a whopping 40 pages of story for your local equivilent of a dollar! We here at Octocon Towers think it's an absolutely amazing comic after just one issue, so we wanted to let everyone know before it's gone from the shelves!

We're now more excited than ever to meet Mike as our GoH this October!

Happy reading!
