Everyone's favourite frequent Octocon guest Michael Carroll, the creator of such fine books as The Quantum Prophecy and Super Human as well as Badger (where you too can know what it's like to graduate from Judge Academy!), will be teaching a ten week course on writing YA fiction at the Irish Writers' Centre this September 21st through November 23rd.

We have heard some of his plans and it sounds like it will be seriously worth any writer's while to go.

So this Sunday is the second meeting of the Geeks Go Gaming Group, which meet on the first Sunday of each month in the Central Hotel's Library Bar.

We will be there, and will be accepting memberships and playing games. We might even have a conversation or two about books or movies!

The action starts at 2pm, and should continue 'til at least 5pm.

After much discussion, the committee has decided to offer trade stands at this years convention at the low low Price of €0(zero euro) . We are hoping to encourage more traders to come along for our guests to spend their money with.

However, in the small print, we will require a  deposit of €50. This deposit is to ensure that people who say they will come along will stay for the weekend

For this you will get a table, and a Trade membership. Any additional memberships will need to be purchased.
