Octocon Needs You!
So, here we are, a week and a bit after our event, and we are now starting to swing back into planning for next year.
Those of you who were at the closing ceremony may recall that we did not announce our Guest of Honour for 2012, but we should be in position to do that by next week! We are very excited.
However: the other important aspect of getting ready for 2012, is getting more people involved in the planning and organising of the convention. There are currently two people on the committee, and while we can run a convention, it will not be as good as it was in 2011.
This is were YOU come in. We need people. People who are willing to work, to try their hands at many and various things. While we have positions that need filling, which I will list below, do not feel that they are the only ways you can help.
The committee positions that we would like to fill are as follows.

Treasurer: Handles the money! Also makes budget projections.

Membership Coordinator: Acts as the person who receives all membership applications, and makes sure that they are recorded. They also act as the person members go to if they have any issues.

Dealer Coordinator: This person will go out and chase down dealers, and also act as the point of contact for the dealers.

Guest liaison: Maintain guest contact, and keep them up to date

Hotel liaison: Maintain working relationship with the hotel

Programming Coordinator: Putting together the event timetable
-
Charity Coordinator: Responsible for raising money for each year’s chosen charity, getting raffle and/or auction prizes, etc.
