The National Irish Science Fiction Film Awards, also known as The Golden Blasters, are a celebration of speculative fiction in film. Film-makers from around the world come to compete for The Golden Blaster Award, as awarded by an audience made up of Octocon members.
The first of these annual festivals will be held at Octocon 2009. More details on this are coming soon, so please keep your eyes peeled!
The nominees for the short film category will be announced weekly, right here on Octocon.com, and we think you'll love them. Many of our moving pictures this year are award-winning productions, and they're all amazing.
This year's judges are Maura McHugh, Dave Lally and Mike Carey, while the audience will act as jury.
