Octocon 2009 Guests of Honour

Mike Carey is the writer of a plethora of Marvel and DC comics (notably Lucifer and X-Men) as well as an acclaimed novelist (the Felix Castor series) and screenwriter (Frost Flowers). He even wrote a magnificent graphic novel with his daughter, Louise Carey, entitled Confessions of a Blabbermouth.

Currently writing monthly comics, his schedule never stays dull for long! His new series for Vertigo Comics, The Unwritten, began this May with art by Peter Gross, and his Ender's Shadow adaptation and X-Men: Legacy come out monthly from Marvel Comics.

Mike is coming to his first Octocon this year, but with the list of credits that he has to his name, we think he more than deserves the Octocon Guest of Honour treatment!

Dave Lally is the Chairman of the European Science Fiction Society, which helps organise the annual EuroCon. He has a special interest in science fiction television and is a fanatic for the 1967 TV show The Prisoner as well as the 1973 Film The Wicker Man.

Dave has been attending Octocon for longer than most average humans and has been representing Irish fandom abroad for years. To say thank you for being such an amazing supporter and fan, we've asked him to be an Honoured Guest this coming October!
