"Victory?": Join the fight for freedom on Monday

Stand to! We've just heard from John Vaughan and the production team at Victory? that a major announcement will be posted here this coming Monday! All we know is what Vaughan said: "Get Ready for a fight!"

THE BLASTERS THAT TIME FORGOT!!! New Year's Edition

From the Octocon Towers, a bedraggled figure runs. They wear the tattered and burnt remains of a NASA flight suit. They're coming this way!

"What time is is it? What year is it? Who's the President? What do you mean what am I talking about? You fools. Can't you see? I seem to have traveled through time when I fell asleep last night.  It was 2011...now it's 2012! We have to run...run I tell you, before the apes on horseback come to make us their slav-- What do you mean "Happy New Year"? Oh. Right. It was 2011 last night because it was New Year's Eve, now it's New Year's Day and it's 2012... so no monkeys on horseback then? No. I won't say I'm not disappointed. Look, here's the latest Blaster That Time Forgot... I'm going to change... *muttermutter* least I've got the Mayan Prophecy to look forward to... What do you mean that's just a bad Roland Emmerich film? Oh come on give me something!"

Frankenweenie
TIM BURTON
1984

Synopsis:
Victor Frankenstein is a young boy with one friend: his dog Sparky. When Sparky is killed by a car, Victor uses the power of electricity to revive his dog but will Victor's neighbours be able to accept Sparky, or will they try to destroy the monster they assume the dog to be?

Frankenweenie on Youtube

John Vaughan says:
"Frankenweenie  is the film that got a young Tim Burton fired from Disney. The film had been due to go before a re-release of Pinnochio, but the company felt that the film was too scary and had wasted precious resources. Little did anyone at Disney know that the film shows the early promise of a talented director who would later go on to direct Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and Sweeney Todd, amongst others. Burton's getting the last laugh, though, as Frankenweenie is being remade as a feature-length stop-motion picture to be released later this year, and who's producing Frankenweenie...? Why Disney, of course!"

A Christmas Message From The Production Of "Victory?"

Ahhh Christmas here at the towers... And while some of us are hanging up our stockings, and thinking of sugarplumbs dancing in our heads, others, like John Vaughan, are working out just how to capture the fall of humankind, and the logistics of deathcamps on screen. So here's a quick Yuletide message from our favourite director:

"Sorry for the lack of updates, but we are deep in the middle of post-production. The shoot for Victory? took place on the 10th and the 11th of December in Ballincollig and the Elysian tower in Cork, and went virtually without a hitch save for the moments where we managed to freak out passersby (it's liberating to be covered from head to toe in blood while wishing people a 'good morning'). Next month we'll have a very interesting giveaway for a lucky few who regularly come to Octocon.com (that's right, free stuff!) so until then, I'll quote the leader of The Alliance, and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (because Happy Holidays is what terrorists say!)."
